BOTANICAL HOUSE PHASE 2
Botanical House Phase 2 was inspired by my trip to the Botanical and Butterfly houses in Sheffield. I loved the depth of life they held, Big leaves towering over the climbing vines and hanging wisteria, Butterflies and birds swooping from branch to branch. The distressed walls made beautiful backgrounds for the botanical world, peeling paint revealing subtle colours and interesting, crumbling textures.
'A fleeting glimpse of colour, a delicate flicker of a wing. Birds and butterflies swoop and flutter in amongst the overgrown world within the glasshouse. Colour and texture mimic the beautiful depths of the botanical world and its relationship with the decaying man-made environment it resides. My collection of luxury interior prints captures this untouchable moment, 'a pause amongst the chaos', utilising a contemporary spin on traditional Chinoiserie.' |
