I am a passionate printed textile designer currently studying a BA Hons in textile design at Nottingham Trent university. My work is an exciting combination of texture and colour, creating statement patterns for both interior and fashion. I am constantly fascinated by the beautiful world around us, finding new and exciting pattern inspiration and colour palettes where ever I go. I have a very personal drawing style which is a key element of my work. As well as my strong use of colour and layering, as an enthusiastic illustrator and painter all of my patterns hold similar marks, textures and lines that have shaped my design identity.
Growing up in the small arty town of Wirksworth, I have always been surrounded by creativity and entrepreneurship. With the aspiration of becoming a designer from a young age I have pursued whichever creative opportunities have come my way. As well as my hobby of drawing and paper cutting, I have studied design all through my education. Throughout my GCSE's and A Levels, before continuing onto my Art foundation at chesterfield college where I discovered my love of textiles. It was here that I really found my design identity which I am still developing throughout my degree.
Here is a portfolio of my work so far which I will be updating regularly with new projects.
